Guess who is "sick" again....Thats right, Stephen. Well, supposedly sick again. I got to daycare Monday morning and he starts coughing and crying. The cough had that dreaded baby seal bark to it, so he was immediately sent home by the daycare teacher. I hadn't planned on a three day weekend, but since I was getting paid for the holiday anyways, I wasn't to upset by it. He already had a doctor appointment scheduled the same day to follow up on the most recent ear infection. Of course we are home for an hour and he is back to normal, running around and bugging his sister by stealing her baby dolls. To make things better, the doctors office calls and cancels our appointment for some "emergency." Oh, and the dr is going on vacation so you will have to wait until next week--AWESOME!
Today I drop them off and the most random thing came out of Stephens mouth. Really I will pay some one $1,000 if their kid has ever said this to them: "Mommy, I have boogies in my ear. Not this one, only this one." WTF?! Can someone please diagnose this one for me? I think we are on the fast track to tube in the ears.

You know it wasn't a good day when...
...You walk into the daycare and you immediately get the look of "Oh thank god you are here!" from the teachers. Then the first thing out of the teachers mouth was "I was going to call you." Oh great what did he do? Stephen runs up to me and I immediately notice a busted lip, and he's not wearing what he went to school in. WTF happened here? It all looked much worse than it was. He tripped over another kids foot and fell, resulting in the busted lip. So why the change of clothes? Well that was a whole other story. Stephen started a new antibiotic last night for the ear infection mentioned yesterday. Apparently he had a minor side effect----explosive diarrhea. It gets better. The poop is interesting colors too. The doctor warned me about that one, but I forgot to mention that to the daycare this morning. Opps! Needless to say they were pretty surprised. Poor guy, enough is enough already!

Day care is a hit
Day two of day care went just as well as the first. Stephen did awesome, no crying or potty accidents. He is eating all of his food and taking good naps. Today when I went to get him to go home, he didn't want to leave. Aria cried a bit more today than yesterday. But I could see that she was all better by the time I got Stephen signed in his room and all settled. This seems to be going so smoothly, makes me wonder why I didn't do this sooner.
I am officially "working the floor" tomorrow with a "buddy." I basically have to go through a whole skills list and show that I actually know how to do things like change diapers, transfer people, and push wheelchairs around. LOL, there is more to it than that. The real challenge will be keeping all the residents straight and getting the routine down. I am going to be a float between all the areas of the facility so that means I have to learn who 150+ old people are. It will be quite the feat since they all look the same (wrinkly, white hair, and smell funny). I can't wait to get up and get two kids out of the house by 6:05 am everyday. Wish me luck in the morning.
