It's Been Awhile...

Updates Bullet Style:

*Still working out, no weight loss :(
*Stephen's no longer saying bad words, thank you Papa for the man to boy talk!
*Spring yard work is done. I, and my helper Stephen, have started planting some things. Our pumpkin patch is done and we planted our beans in the garden today.
*I put Aria in big girl undies for a few hours today. I know the best way to approach potty training is all or nothing, no back and forth. But I have decided to wait until she is 2 to get into full blown potty training. It will be more convenient for daycare. But today she had on big girl undies and had no accidents, pooped on the potty (only because I saw the face and quickly plopped her on the potty), and she tried a bunch of times to go peepee. No luck though. I figure she can slowly get used to the idea.
*I am patiently waiting for my friend to give birth. Her last check-up her belly was measuring 45 weeks!!! She will be induced Friday if nothing before then. Hang in there Ruchell!!!

Working Out update

In a nutshell:
-I am loving working out
-Definately a challenge to find time to do it, but my goal is 4 times a week. I have been able to reach my goal so far
-Weight loss.... Nothing so far, but I am feeling stronger, healthier, and emotionally more stable
-If only I could get a better handle on my diet, it is 50% better. No more drive-thrus, making my lunches everyday

Day 8: McJiggle to McHottie

I made it to the gym 4 out of the last 8 days, and am pretty proud of that. I am sore, but the good sore that means my muscles are working. Stephen loves the play room there, Aria is still a little unsure of it. It is kinda weird for me to see people from high school though, I feel like its been so long that I've "been gone." I don't like to see familiar people when I am working out, I want to get in-sweat my ass off (literally)-and get out.

Now if I could just get my diet in check, I will be well on my way to my bikini body.

Day 1 of McJiggle to McHottie

Well today I sucked it up and joined a gym. I've tried the workout dvds at home, I do it for 3 days then never do it again. I need to be in a place where I have no choice but to work out. And since I am paying to go, I will go so I don't waste my money. I initially had a a lot of guilt about wanting to do this. Here is why: My kids are already in daycare 40+ hours a week, so I had a hard time justifying taking them to a different "daycare" so I can workout. But in the end, if I am not happy with me, then I'm not going to be the best mom I can be. I am noticing that my patience has just about run out, and have a very short fuse lately. It could be due to the fact that we have entered the "terrible two's" stage, but I blame me.

So today we all went and it was great. They kids had fun in the play room too. I could have pushed myself a lot harder, but it was only day 1. I did 2 miles on the treadmill and 6 on the bike. I felt great after, hopefully this will give me more energy overall. And make my clothes fit again :)

Spring Cleanin'/3-day weekend

To do list:

Strip all beds, wash EVERYTHING!--check
Go through kids dressers/closets---Check
Scrub all floors---check
Scrub stove---check
Get sand for sandbox--check
Get mulch for my tulips---check
Buy/assemble bike for Aria---Check
Open window and air out this joint---check
Plant 2nd "indoor greenhouse"---will be done on Monday

Water heater take a shit---check. Obviously not something I planned on happening this weekend. Well, the jury is still out on whether or not its completely busted. Not a pleasant surprise when in the middle of doing 6 loads of laundry to go in the basement to see my water heater steaming and gushing water all over the floor. For now it seems okay, but I am watching that thing like a hawk and texting updates to my "landlord."

I was so excited to be outside and cooking on the grill today. The kiddos were all over the place, riding bikes, playing in the sandbox, golfing, baseball, and chasing each other. I LOVE IT. I didn't have time last summer to enjoy the nice weather and just being outside with my kids. I am soaking up every second I have with my kids, they are my world. Trust me, we will be outside everyday we can as much as possible! Besides I have to tend to my garden, I have a feeling it will be my 3rd baby this summer :)

Green Thumb Fever

It's kinda like cabin fever only I am getting VERY antsy to plant my garden. I have spent a good part of my extremely limited free time this week digging out my future garden, with my little "helpers." It started out pretty small, and quickly grew to size of my garage (well the width anyways). I even planted 70 little seedlings in one of those "indoor greenhouse" tray things, and I still need to do more. I have a couple little sprouts already! So far I have: Corn, green beans, big tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, those weird shaped yellow tomatoes, strawberries, pumpkins, and cucumbers. I still want to get bell peppers, green onions, zucchini, some herbs, and I am considering lettuce. I'm going to have veggies coming out of my you know what!!! I can't wait!

Tubes are in...

Stephen's "procedure" was a success and went very smoothly. There was no versed only gas to make him pass out for a couple minutes. And there was no screaming at all. I was so proud of my brave little buddy. They wheeled him away and not a peep from him. I'm not sure he really understood that we weren't going with him. I prepared myself for the non stop screaming for at least an hour, but he just laid in the bed snuggling his blankie and had the death grip on his little car they let him take with. Now I am on water in the ears patrol. I didn't even wash his hair during his bath today because I was so paranoid. A successful day :)

Big Day Tomorrow...

Finally after countless ear infections, my little buddy is getting tubes in his ears. I am very excited for no more ear infections and no longer needing to repeat myself 6 times every time I say something to Stephen. The doc said his hearing is comparable to walking around with your thumbs in your ears. So I am expecting the worst but hoping for the best tomorrow. Nothing to eat after midnight, then there is the anesthesia. Last time Stephen had this gas (for his tongue tied procedure) he woke up screaming for 2 hours. I bought some little presents for him to have after he wakes up, in hopes to avoid the non stop screaming. So everyone send some positive energy tomorrow around 8am.

Cancelled!!!

Guess who is "sick" again....Thats right, Stephen. Well, supposedly sick again. I got to daycare Monday morning and he starts coughing and crying. The cough had that dreaded baby seal bark to it, so he was immediately sent home by the daycare teacher. I hadn't planned on a three day weekend, but since I was getting paid for the holiday anyways, I wasn't to upset by it. He already had a doctor appointment scheduled the same day to follow up on the most recent ear infection. Of course we are home for an hour and he is back to normal, running around and bugging his sister by stealing her baby dolls. To make things better, the doctors office calls and cancels our appointment for some "emergency." Oh, and the dr is going on vacation so you will have to wait until next week--AWESOME!

Today I drop them off and the most random thing came out of Stephens mouth. Really I will pay some one $1,000 if their kid has ever said this to them: "Mommy, I have boogies in my ear. Not this one, only this one." WTF?! Can someone please diagnose this one for me? I think we are on the fast track to tube in the ears.

You know it wasn't a good day when...

...You walk into the daycare and you immediately get the look of "Oh thank god you are here!" from the teachers. Then the first thing out of the teachers mouth was "I was going to call you." Oh great what did he do? Stephen runs up to me and I immediately notice a busted lip, and he's not wearing what he went to school in. WTF happened here? It all looked much worse than it was. He tripped over another kids foot and fell, resulting in the busted lip. So why the change of clothes? Well that was a whole other story. Stephen started a new antibiotic last night for the ear infection mentioned yesterday. Apparently he had a minor side effect----explosive diarrhea. It gets better. The poop is interesting colors too. The doctor warned me about that one, but I forgot to mention that to the daycare this morning. Opps! Needless to say they were pretty surprised. Poor guy, enough is enough already!

More Antibiotics!!

Stephen hasn't even been off his antibiotics from pneumonia for a week and we were right back at the doctors office again. This time it is an ear infection, AGAIN. This is number 3 or 4 in nearly 8 months. Needless to say it is probably time to have the tubes in the ears chat with the doc. Poor guy. He has a pretty good tolerance for pain because by the time he complains of pain, his eardrum is about ready to rupture. Either that or his infections go from 0 to 10 in a matter of hours. I really would like to make it an entire month without a trip to the doctor. It is only February 2nd and we have been to urgent care 3 times already this year. Enough already!!!

A new year... A new life

It's been quite some time since the last post. I actually just spent the last half hour resetting passwords and trying to log on (I couldn't remember usernames and passwords). So whats new in the Donchess house? Well first off... I kept the last name Donchess after the divorce was final. I went back and forth about that for a long time and ultimately decided that I wanted to have the same last name as my kids. The divorce was final on December 4th as planned, no suprises thank God.

The holidays were pretty hectic. I thought I would have had a hard time surviving my first holiday season as a single mom, but it went off without a hitch. Maybe it was that I didn't really have time to even think about it. There was about 5 days straight of non stop festivities. By far the best Christmas I've had, I'm sure that was because the kids had so much fun and were really into it. We spent New Years up north in Leetopia. I have some pretty funny pics from NYE but I doubt my family members would approve off putting those pics up for the world to see.

January is almost over and all I feel like I've done this whole month is take kids to the doctor and as a result missing quite a few days of work. Thankfully my job is very understanding and flexible. It all started January 2nd.... A trip to Marshfield Urgent Care. Aria decided to ring in the new year with a case of the croup. She is still coughing and I believe she is the reason that there was 3 cases of Bhronchitis, 2 of pnuemonia, and 1 walking pnuemonia at the daycare. I think she infected everyone. So that brings us to this week, guess who got pnuemonia??? Thats right---Stephen. I am seriously thinking I should take Aria back to the dr for a chest x-ray too. She shouldn't be coughing from croup still.

Aria is now in a big girl bed, and doing great. She made the switch much easier than Stephen ever did. Only a couple days of getting out of bed a few times and that was it. Piece of cake. Next step is potty training.

Thats all for now...Someone near me stinks :)
